    Outside we have a small cottage that has a table, chairs, wicker furniture, microwave, fridge, radio, TV that plays VHS tapes, CD player, ceiling fan, air conditioner, heating stove and a great view.

    Your private areas of the house include a spacious front porch with table and chairs (you can eat breakfast outside, weather permitting). Sit outside, enjoy the view and catch some fresh air while you relax!

    Lorain County boasts some of the most beautiful metroparks in the area, there are several nearby wineries, hiking and biking trails and more! Just 15 minutes from Lake Erie, take a stroll on the beach when the weather is nice!

About the Amherst, Ohio Bed & Breakfast

Situated on 1.5 acres of land is our own little slice of heaven. Nestled in a rural area with a country atmosphere, but with all the conveniences of city life. A labor of love for owners Paul & Cindy Miller, this restored farm house can accommodate 4 additional guests max. We have two queen-sized guest rooms upstairs in our bed and breakfast, along with a sitting room and a shared full bathroom. If you prefer more privacy, please let us know upon reserving your room and we will leave the second guest room empty.

Each morning you will be served a home-cooked breakfast in our country-style dining room. Please make us aware of any dietary restrictions upon reserving your room so we can accommodate those as well.

Other Info

Each guest room has DISH TV, a DVD player, access to WiFi, iron and ironing board and plenty of closet space. The Pine Room has a queen-sized Sleep Number, adjustable bed with a massage feature, window air conitioner (in season of course), infrared portable heater, ceiling fan and clock radio. The Garden Room has a very comfortable queen-sized bed, an electric heating fireplace, window air conditioner (in season of course) ceiling fan and clock radio.

The sitting room has a TV with DVD capabilities only, small refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig hot beverage brewer. The bathroom has a bath tub / shower with a mirrored enclosure. Hair dryer, curling iron, bath and body products, hair towels, makeup cloths and soft, absorbing towels are also stocked inside of the bathroom.

Pine Room

Equipped with a Sleep Number adjustable bed and topped with an Amish Country-style quilt, the Pine Room is considered to be a favorite by our guests. Inside of this room you will have plenty of dresser and drawer space, a clock radio with iPod dock, portable infrared heater, and it’s own window air conditioner (when the weather allows it of course).

Garden Room

An exceptionally-comfortable queen-sized bed awaits you in the Garden Room. If you are staying with us in the cooler seasons, feel free to use the electric fireplace for heat, or for ambiance. Contrary to popular belief, the weather here can get very warm in the summer months which is why we equip each room with a window air conditioner (when it’s warm enough, of course).

With our convenient location, we find that many of our guests love how close to Sandusky, Oberlin, and Cleveland we are. Looking for arts and history? Oberlin is a must-see.

Cedar Point
Known as “America’s Roller Coast”, Cedar Point features a world-record 72 rides, including 16 roller coasters which ties it with Canada’s Wonderland for the second-most roller coasters in an amusement park behind Six Flags Magic Mountain. Its newest roller coaster, GateKeeper, opened in May 2013.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a museum located on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is part of the city’s redeveloped North Coast Harbor.
Cleveland Zoo
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo was founded in 1882. It is one of the most popular year-round attractions in Northeast Ohio; by attendance, the Cleveland Indians were the most popular attraction in Northeast Ohio in 2007 with a total attendance of over 2.2 million. Great Lakes Science Center
The Great Lakes Science Center is a museum and educational facility in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Playhouse Square
